Type 2
- Piston Rod Sealing
Select an O-Ring where d1 + 2xd2 is equal to, or slightly larger than the piston rod diameter d7. Note that the compression of the O-Ring outside diameter should not exceed 8%. Housing inside
diameter is calculated as follows:-
| |
d7 max = d6 min + 2(gd max) |
d7 min = d6 max + 2(gd min) |

Type 3 - Axial Sealing (Internal Pressure)
The housing outside diameter d9 should be equal to, or slightly
smaller than d1 + 2d2. It is permissible to compress the outside
diameter of the O-Ring up to 1%.

Type 4
- Axial Sealing (External Pressure)
The housing inside diameter d10, should be equal to d1. It is
permissible to stretch the O-Ring between 2% and 4% depending
on the size of the ring. The larger the ring, the less stretch
permissible. For other O-Ring gland dimensions for Types 3 &
4, refer to Table 2. |
